Τον Απρίλιο 9 2017 πρόκειται να πραγματοποιηθεί για 4η φορά ο διεθνής Μαραθώνιος της Ρόδου.

Πραγματοποιείται στα πλαίσια της αθλητικής ανάπτυξης του νησιού αλλά και στα πλαίσια του αθλητικού τουρισμού και της επιμήκυνσης της τουριστικής περιόδου. Διοργανωτές η Περιφέρεια Νοτίου Αιγαίου, ο ΣΕΓΑΣ και ο Δήμος Ρόδου. Σας καλούμε να συμβάλλεται στην προβολή της διοργάνωσης σε κάθε ενδιαφερόμενο που θα μπορούσατε. Στην κρίσιμη περίοδο που διανύουμε για τη χώρα η εξωστρέφεια και η ανάπτυξη μέσω του αθλητισμού και του τουρισμού μπορεί να συμβάλει τα μέγιστα στην ανάκαμψη της χώρας. RHODES MARATHON APRIL 9 2017

Dear Sir/Madam

Join us for the 4th International Roads to Rhodes Marathon at the 9th of April 2017 and experience all the ancient and medieval history of the island as we run along the seaside with the spectacular views of the deep blue colors of the Aegean Sea.

Route description:

The  optimal flat course provides the athletes with views of the deep blue Aegean sea. Therefore, all the races (5K, 10K, Marathon and Half Marathon) will begin along the beautiful sea coast and will finish in the Rhodes city center. We are all excited with the race route designed to allow the runners to enjoy a spectacular scenery and to experience the real history of ancient Rhodes. 

As one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe, runners will see the island where the famous Colossus of Rhodes was standing, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, along with the medieval Old Town which is in the UNESCO world heritage list. . Besides the participants will run where the great athlete Leonidas the Rhodian was born. The route will be cyclical by the seaside, at the north part of Rhodes city and will arrive in the city center of Rhodes in a festive atmosphere. The entire route is closed off to cars. 




Refreshment stations: 

During the entire route there will be aid stations for the athletes: every 2.5 km water and every 5 km sports drinks, bananas and energy bars. 
There are also toilets throughout the route and first aid help at every station.

Starting times:

Marathon start time: 08.00

Half Marathon start time: 09:00

10km start time 12.00

5km start time 12.30

Entry fees:

Marathon: 35 €

Half Marathon: 30€

10 km: 15€

5 km: 10 €

5 km, all students under the age of 18: 10 € (proof of age is required)

All participants receive a performance running shirt.

Time limit:

Marathon runners must finish in 6 hours in order to be an official finisher.

Age limit:

The minimum age for participating in the full marathon is 18 years, for 10k 15 years and 5k 12 years.

The Rhodes marathon now has the official approval of the Hellenic and International Athletics Federation SEGAS along with AIMS and IAAF, ensuring the validity and international recognition of the race.
